HOBE SOUND, Fla. – Faye Miller McCue, 89, died Oct. 24, 2009, in West Palm Beach, Fla. She was born Dec. 31, 1919, in Littleton, the daughter of Truman Dodge Miller and Welthy London Miller. She was the fifth of 10 children. Faye graduated from Houlton High School in 1938 and was employed by J.J. Newberry’s until she married Clayton, Oct. 2, 1939. She later worked at Madigan Hospital for 19 years as a nurse’s aide. She was president of Houlton Regional Hospital Auxiliary and a member of Council for Catholic Women. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing and canoeing, and all manner of outdoor activities. She is survived by her loving husband, Clayton, whom she was married to for 70 years; daughter, Lulu and her husband, Dick Howland; daughter, Mary and her husband, Vaughn Putnam; son, David and his wife, Mary; her son, Bill and his wife, Emerald; daughter, Kathy and her husband, John Moulton; 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Welthy McCue Varney; and great-grandson, Elijah Putnam Flewelling. Funeral services were held Oct. 27 at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, Hobe Sound, Fla.
