MILLINOCKET – Shirley (Rush) Rogan, 73 years young, went home to be with the Lord Nov. 12, 2009, after her courageous fight with cancer. She was born Oct. 8, 1936, in Benedicta, the loving daughter of George and Mary L. (Seile) Rush. Shirley was a devout Catholic and believed in the Lord’s word. The things she loved the most were her husband, family, grandchildren, home, friends, bluegrass and bingo. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Carlton J. Rogan; two sons, Terry C. and his wife, Kim, and Michael S., all of Millinocket; three grandchildren, Justin of Augusta, and Chelsea and Joshua of Millinocket; three sisters and one brother, Debbie Irish and her husband, Gene, Reni Qualey and her husband, Peter, all of Sherman, Betty Rush of Stetson and Matthew Rush and his wife, Leann, of Benedicta; lifelong friends, Norma and Bill Dow of Millinocket; several nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was predeceased by two mothers, her father; and two brothers, Billy Rush and Raphael Rush. The family thanks Shirley’s family, friends and hospice for all their care and concern. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday with Father Joel Cyr, celebrant.
