ADDISON – Wilma E. Newcomb, 80, died Nov. 13, 2009, at her residence, with her husband by her side. She was born April 28, 1929, in Columbia, the daughter of Benjamin and Iva (Grant) Dorr. Wilma did many things in her working carrier including packing fish, shucking clams, raking blueberries, making wreaths and she was a food service director for SAD 37. She was a member of Addison Ladies Auxiliary. Wilma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Horace I. Newcomb of Addison; one son, Paul Newcomb of Addison; one daughter, Lorna Greene and her husband, Peter, of Addison; seven grandchildren, Amy (Newcomb) Griffith and her husband, Baxter, Adam Newcomb and his wife, Erin, Jason Greene and his wife, Karen, James Greene, Jeffrey Greene and his wife, Shelby, Kimberly (Greene) Taylor and her husband, Jeff, and Kristopher Greene; and four great-grandchildren, Ryan and Sean Griffith, Andrew Greene and Jackson Newcomb. She is also survived by four sisters, Eleanor, Barbara, Leona and Donna; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, Thomas Newcomb; and eight siblings. A funeral service will be celebrated 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Main Street, Milbridge. Private burial will be at Church on the Hill Cemetery, Addison.
