ST. AGATHA – Robert “Big Bob” Ouellette, 64, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 13, 2009, in Perth Andover, New Brunswick. He was born Oct. 3, 1945, in Savannah, Ga., to Henry and Harriet (Arnsdorff) Ouellette. Bob resided in St. Agatha with his companion of 16 years, Mary Michaud. He attended Caribou schools and later went on to graduate from the University of Moncton, Moncton, New Brunswick, with a degree in education, after which he did most of his teaching in SAD 33. At the time of his death, he was semi-retired and spent part of his time installing vertical blinds and importing numerous products from Canada for Valley merchants. Most recently he was president of the ATV Club and a co-chairperson of Summerfest 2010 Festival. He was a “Mr. Fixit” who enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family and friends. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. He had been a member of St. Agatha Historical Society and St. Agatha Volunteer Fire Department, served as a town selectman and held a seat on the planning board. Bob is survived by a daughter, Rachel and son-in-law, Bobby Michaud, of Grand Isle; a very special and treasured 6-year-old grandson, Jack, who loved to hug and kiss his pepere all the time; as well as a stepgrandson, Tanner Marquis; a brother, Carl and sister-in-law, Anella Ouellette, of Caribou; and nephews, Jason and Josh and his wife, Karen and their two children, Claire and Colby, all of Caribou. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Michaud Funeral Home, St. Agatha, and 8 a.m. until the time of funeral service 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Valley Church, St. Agatha. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
