BANGOR – Madeline F. Rich, 78, wife of the late Lloyd W. Rich, died Nov. 14, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born April 25, 1931, in Bangor, the daughter of Edwin and Phyllis (Tenan) Glidden. She worked at Viner Shoe Co. and Service Merchandise Co. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years, and loved to attend church and sing in the choir, as well as sing specials at local churches and the veterans’ home in Bangor. She is survived by her brother, Maurice Glidden and his wife, Pam; her sister, Bertha and her husband, Norman Murray; and five grandsons, Lloyd Chaison, Scott Chaison, Gerald Hewes, Christopher Hewes and Shawn Hewes. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Gail Worcester; and granddaughter, Tammy Chaison. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Faith Baptist Church, 12 Forest Ave., Orono, with Pastor David J. Natale officiating, where friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday. Interment will be afterward at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
