MONTVILLE – Mark A. Hanson, 54, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. He was born Sept. 1, 1955, in Hartland. A 1973 graduate of Nokomis Regional High School, Newport, Mark was always taking classes and seminars to continue his education. He spent nearly 30 years in manufacturing management, including furniture, garments, screen-printing and contract electronics. He lived in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina, returning to settle back in Maine. He had spent the last several years as a real estate broker for Town and Country Real Estate and was a photographer in the Belfast area. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He had many interests, including riding his motorcycle, photography, music, project carpentry, all types of art, wildlife, the ocean and gardening. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Susan Fahlberg-Hanson of Montville; daughter, Jamie Hanson of Manchester, N.H.; son, Kyle Hanson of South Portland; mother and father, Brian and Glenice Hanson of Saint Albans; brother, James Hanson and his wife, Bea, of Hartland; brother, Daniel Hanson of Saint Albans; his grandmother, Madeline Hollister; several nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Doris Fahlberg of Searsport. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Kenneth Fahlberg, in 2008. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at First Congregational Church, 8 Church St., Searsport, with the Rev. Dr. Arlin T. Larson officiating. A reception will be held afterward. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Waldo County General Hospital – Oncology Department, 118 Northport Ave., P.O.
