PORTLAND – Donna L. Snyder, 73, passed away Nov. 21, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Manor. Donna was born April 22, 1936, in Columbia Falls, the daughter of Benjamin E. and Iva M. Dorr. Donna married Philip B. Snyder, Jan. 24, 1954. They moved to Portland and raised five children. She loved playing Beano and cards. She was also an avid NASCAR fan. Donna loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by five sisters, Gertrude Smith, Laura Ramsey, Betty Chipman, Arlene Atwater and Wilma Newcomb; and four brothers, Shirley Door, Albert Dorr, Embert Dorr and Robert Dorr. Donna is survived by her devoted husband, Philip; as well as their five children, Timothy of Saco, Stephen and wife, Ruth, of Buxton, Darlene and husband, Al, of Gray, Deidre and husband, Dave, of Harrison and Philip and wife, Alise, of Standish; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eleanor Chipman, Barbara Pinkham and Leona Feeney; several nieces and nephews. The Snyder family sends a special thanks to all who cared for Donna during her stay at St. Joseph’s Manor. Visiting hours will be held noon until the time of service Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Blais & Hay Funeral Home, 35 Church St., Westbrook, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna’s memory to St. Joseph’s Manor, 1133 Washington Ave., Portland, ME 04103.
