NEWBURGH – Rita L. Bowden, 64, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 26, 2009, at her home. She was born March 1, 1945, in Bangor, daughter of the late Herbert “Archie” Millett and Mary L. (Comer) Millett. Rita was a certified nurse’s aide and enjoyed caring for others, especially while working at Ross Manor. The focus of her life was always on her family and she loved being with her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her companion and friend of 18 years, Carl E. Babcock Jr. of Newburgh; her sons, John A. Bowden of Winterport, Joshua D. Bowden and wife, Amy, of Winterport and Joseph D. Bowden and wife, Sara, of Hampden; brothers and sisters, Josephine Smith, Mary “Betty” Norris, Martin Millett, William “Bill” Millett, George “Danny” Millett and Herbert Arthur Millett Jr.; her beloved grandchildren, Jacob, Michael, Hunter, Jackson and Cooper Bowden; many nieces and nephews.
