HANCOCK – Dorothy Jeanne (Pottle) Fogg, 81, died Dec. 15, 2009, at a Bar Harbor hospital. She was born June 9, 1928, in Perry, the daughter of Ralph Crosby and C. Faye (Hibbard) Pottle. Dorothy attended Shore Road School, Perry, graduated from Shead Memorial High School and Farmington State Teachers College with a Bachelor of Science degree in home economics. She taught for nearly 30 years in the following schools: Jonesport High, Winslow High, Bar Harbor High, Trenton Elementary, Shead Memorial High and Eastport Elementary. Dorothy was an avid seamstress, loved cooking and was a wonderful homemaker. She was a member of Perry Congregational Church and was treasurer of Bayview Cemetery, Perry, for more than 20 years. She is survived by her children, Bernard Charles Fogg and Audrey Elizabeth Fogg, both of Hancock and Robert Alvin Fogg and wife, Betty, of Topsham; and two granddaughters, Meghan and Jennifer. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; sister, Audrey Townsend; and brother, Alvin Pottle. Calling hours and reception will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Private interment will be held at Bayview Cemetery, Perry.
