PITTSFIELD and ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Harold S. Maden, 100, died Dec. 15, 2009. He was born in Lowell, Mass., and grew up in Lynn, Mass. Furthering his education, he put himself through Northeastern University during the Depression delivering groceries via horse and buggy. Harold worked for Cities Service Oil Co., Boston, and later moved his family to Maine to become a district manager. He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Jean; his parents, Harry and Dora; and a brother, Donald. He is survived by his loving daughters, Carol, Judy and Priscilla; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who will miss this kind and gentle man.
