CARIBOU and ALLAGASH – Louis Wilbur Jackson, 88, passed away Dec. 23, 2009, at a Caribou health care facility. He was born Aug. 16, 1921, in St. Francis, son of Aaron and Melissa (Thibodeau) Jackson. Louis enjoyed his younger years fishing the St. John, Allagash and Poc Woc. He hunted the land that he loved and was always home forever in his heart. He is survived by five sons, Louis “Pat” and his wife, Helen, of Connecticut, Mike and his wife, Marty, of Texas, Sterlin and his wife, Jayne, of Allagash, Leroy and his wife, Sue, of Georgia, and Louis Emerson of Fort Fairfield; seven daughters, Faye and her husband, Richard, Mable and her husband, Danny, Linda and her husband, Melford, all of Allagash, Sylvia and her friend, Bill, of Waterville, Jean and her friend, Don, of Fort Kent, Kady and her husband, Lester, of Soldier Pond, and Marlene and her husband, Peter, of Caribou; his stepchildren, Michael and his wife, Vicky, Richard and his wife, Coralee, and Lynn and her husband, Roger; a special stepdaughter, Barbara and her friend, Junior; two special stepgrandsons, Brad and Eric; 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Percy of Caribou and Maynard of St. Francis; and three sisters, Jeanette and Annie of Connecticut, and Verna of Presque Isle. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Ann Mullins; his second wife, Clara Emerson; a daughter, Shirley; a son, Vernon; a grandson, Michael Jackson; several brothers and sisters. Committal services will be held in the spring at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the Louis Jackson Memorial Fund, 19 Inn Road, Allagash, ME 04774.
