FRANKLIN – Yvonne Gladys (Bragdon) Tilden, 79, died peacefully Jan. 5, 2010, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born Aug. 31, 1930, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Lincoln and Maxine J. (Bunker) Bragdon. Yvonne graduated from Franklin High School in 1947. She was known to all as a sweet, gentle lady who was a gifted hostess and excellent cook that loved to entertain. She enjoyed reading cookbooks and kept up with current affairs. In later years she enjoyed watching the birds at her window. Every Sunday she hosted the church ladies for coffee. She is survived by daughters, Linda Yvette (Tilden) Dinsmore and husband, Almer, of Trenton, Lisa Yvonne (Tilden) Herrington and husband, Mark, of Franklin; grandchildren, Aaron Dinsmore and wife, Jody, Benjamin Dinsmore and wife, Mary, Henry and Phoebe Herrington; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Dayton Dinsmore and Kiersten and Lacey Dinsmore; a special sister, Judithean Billings of Franklin; cousin, Diane Green; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Carleton Earle Tilden in 1963. Calling hours will be held 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Spring interment will be at Bayview Cemetery, Franklin.
