CORINTH – Jerry Cunningham, 59, died Jan. 7, 2010, after a short illness. Jerry was born March 9, 1950, in the Bronx, New York City, son of late Frank and Blanche. He was a graduate of Bronx High School of Science, Lehman College and Union Theological Seminary. His career started as a Methodist minister in New York and Connecticut for 10 years before he moved to Maine, where he worked at two newspapers before finding his true calling as a teacher at Central High School for the last 23 years. He received the Golden Apple Award for teaching in the 2008-2009 school year. He will be remembered for his passion for teaching, photography and travel. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Tabor; son, Matthew and wife, Jennifer; stepchildren, Philip and Jennifer; brother, Wayne and wife, Joanne; nieces, Melissa and Ashley; and nephew, Michael.
