WINTERPORT – Lisa Michelle Melo, 26, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 11, 2010, at her home. Lisa was born in Bangor, the daughter of Michael and Linda (Wladkowski) Melo. Lisa grew up and attended schools in Winterport. She was a graduate of Hampden Academy, Class of 2003, where she was active in the band and chorus. Lisa enjoyed karaoke, rollerskating and outdoor activities including, skiing and camping, but most of all enjoyed life. Lisa will always be remembered as having a sunny disposition, and was a loving daughter, sister and friend to all. Lisa is survived by her loving parents, Michael L. and Linda A. Melo; her brother, Christopher S. Melo, all of Winterport; maternal grandfather, Edward Wladkowski of Epson, N.H.; paternal grandfather, George Melo of Drexel Hill, Pa.; aunt and uncle, James and Carol Patterson of Springfield, Pa.; several cousins in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, as well as several close friends too numerous to mention. Lisa was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Violet Wladkowski; and her paternal grandmother, Patricia Melo. A memorial service celebrating Lisa’s life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Family and friends may visit noon until time of service. Memorial contributions in Lisa’s honor may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
