DANFORTH – Virginia Mae (Reed) Noyes, wife of the late Harland Noyes, passed away Jan. 12, 2010, after a long battle with kidney disease. She was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Wytopitlock, daughter of Merton and Jennie (Sherwood) Reed. Virginia moved with her family to Danforth as a teenager where she met and married Harland. Together, they settled on their farm on the Irish Settlement, raising their four children. She attended schools in Wytopitlock and Danforth. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She spent her life providing for her family, canning, baking, knitting, quilting and endlessly cooking meals for all. More recently, her days were spent at Lincoln Lakes Dialysis where she was befriended by staff and peers. She is survived by her children, Rodney and Diane Noyes of Prentiss, Sharon and Robert Frye, Roger Noyes, Deborah and David Kinney, all of Danforth; her grandchildren, Tori, Tiffany, Matt, Jason, Zak, TJ, Kaye, Missi, Jay, Mandy, Josh, Kristy, Nancy and Lydia; her great-grandchildren, Alana, Adrien, Thomas and Gavin; her sister, Glenna Cropley; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Wellman “Hank” and Lowell Reed. Her family is indebted to the staff at Lincoln Lakes Dialysis, who, along with all her friends there, became extended family. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with President Jared Carter officiating. Spring interment will be at Danforth Cemetery.
