HERMON – Jon E. Bishop, 71, passed on to a better life Jan. 21, 2010. He was born in 1938, in Hermon, the son of James F. and Mildred R. (Patten) Bishop. Jon worked as a truck driver for many years, along with his dog and co-pilot, Skeeter, who he loved. His enjoyments included bowling, camping and fishing, and working with his tractors and plow truck. Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Linda N. Bishop of Hermon; daughter, Alta Priest and her husband, Jon and their children, Alexandra and David Priest, all of Hermon; his son, Mark Bishop and his wife, Debbie, of Hermon; a sister, Louise Bishop of Maryland; a brother, Cary Bishop of Hermon; several very special nieces and nephews. Jon was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Burton, Wayne and Gary. Family and friends may visit 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a service honoring his life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24.
