EAST MILLINOCKET – Donald L. Crosby, 68, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at home. He was born July 4, 1941, in Millinocket, the son of Gordon L. and Lila E. (Clark) Crosby. Donald grew up in East Millinocket, and was a graduate of Schenck High School, Class of 1960. He was a papermaker for Great Northern Paper Co., East Millinocket, for 39 years, retiring in 1999. Donald greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed following NASCAR. Donald loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jeannette M. (Brooks) Crosby; three children, Donna Bendiksen and her husband, Adam, of Portland, Mark Crosby and his fiancee, Michelle, of East Millinocket, and Lila Larrivee and her husband, David, of Steep Falls; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Gilbert, Anthony, Nathan, Nicholas, Desiree and Elora; one great-grandson, Mason; two brothers, Kenneth Clark of East Millinocket and Dennis Pennell of Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by two children, Andrea and Wayne; and a brother, William. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at First Congregational Church of East Millinocket with the Rev. Dottie Hutch, pastor, officiating.
