MADAWASKA – Louis C. Sirois, 88, died Jan. 22, 2010, at a Veterans Affairs Home, Augusta. He was born May 12, 1921, in Madawaska, the son of Charles and Olive Sirois. Louis was the owner of Sirois Jewelry Store, Madawaska, for 35 years until his retirement. He was a World War II veteran and a member of fourth degree Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post No. 147 of Madawaska. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Claire (Marquis) Sirois; one son, Gary and his wife, Judy, of West Townsend, Mass.; one daughter, Lynn and her husband, Jeffrey Davis, of Dresden; two grandchildren, Adeline and Elias; five brothers and their wives, Valere and Francoise, Hermel and Pierrette, Robert and Lucillle, Claude and Agnes, and Charles and Rina, all of Madawaska; two sisters, Sister Corinne Sirois of Biddeford and Therese Signoralie of Stamford, Conn.; one sister-in-law, Claire of Madawaska; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and one daughter, Louise; and three brothers, Bertrand, Lucien and Conrad. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at St. Thomas Church, Madawaska, with the Rev. James Albert. Friends and relatives may come to give their condolence 9 a.m. until the time of services at St. Thomas Church. Burial will be in the spring at St. Thomas Cemetery.
