FAIRFIELD – Ursula C. (Vigue) Voisine, 80, died peacefully Jan. 25, 2010, at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, due to congestive heart failure. She was born Sept. 16, 1929, in Fairfield, the daughter of the late George and Isabelle (Gagne) Vigue. She graduated from Lawrence High School, Fairfield, in 1947. In high school, she was an outstanding basketball and softball player. After graduation, she began working at C.F. Hathaway, Waterville. She later married the late Arthur Voisine, May 10, 1952. In 1976, she retired from C.F. Hathaway to open Fox Den dancehall in Fairfield, with her husband. There, she made many friends. She was instrumental in hosting Benefit Country Sundays to provide Christmas gifts to the Home for Little Wanderers. She especially loved hosting an annual Halloween party for local children for several years. In 1995, she received the Mother of the Year Award from Skowhegan-Madison Elks Lodge No. 2531. In recent years, she enjoyed tours to Branson, Mo., Nashville, Tenn., and Foxwoods, Conn. Her most recent enjoyment was Hollywood Slots, Bangor. Ursula was a special lady who touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her sparkling blue eyes and sweet smile were enchanting. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Voisine; a sister, a brother and a special brother-in-law. Surviving are a son, Ronald Voisine and wife, Cathy, of Fairfield; three daughters, Debbie Voisine Hamlin Plummer and husband, John, of Fairfield, Peggy Voisine Gayne of Fairfield, and Pamela Voisine Baker of Bangor; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a very special sister, three brothers and a sister-in-law. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. A Mass of Christian burial will be 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 21 High St., Fairfield. A private interment will be at Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery, Waterville. Those who wish may make donations to the Home for Little Wanderers, Silver Street, Waterville.
