MONSON – Jettie T. Hennigan, 100, passed away Feb. 27, 2010, at a Greenville nursing home. She was born Sept. 18, 1909, in Monson, the second daughter of Harry M. and Lottie (Weeks) Thomas. A graduate of Monson Academy, Class of 1927, she was a lifelong resident of Monson. Jettie obtained her nurses training at the former Plummer Memorial Hospital, Dexter; and the former Eastern Maine General Hospital, Bangor. She worked 11 years at Charles A. Dean Hospital, Greenville Junction; 26 years at the former Mayo Memorial Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft; and two years at the former Brown Nursing Home, Monson. She attended Monson Community Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter A. Hennigan, whom she married June 7, 1946; her parents; a sister, Thelma; and a cousin, Barbara Thomas. She leaves three cousins, Mrs. Virginia (Day) Zimmerman of Monson, Mrs. Allana (Church) Wing of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Miss Charlotte Thomas of Kingston, Mass. Friends are invited to call 10 a.m. until time of funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, March 5, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. Burial will be in the family lot at Hillside Cemetery, Monson, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Charles A.
