SEARSPORT – Kayla Blake Bickford, 11, died unexpectedly March 5, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 20, 1999, in Belfast, the daughter of Troy Bickford and Heather Blake. She was a vibrant girl who loved animals. Her family and friends meant everything to her. She loved singing and enjoyed playing basketball. She is survived by her paternal grandparents, Dave and Carol Bickford of Arundel; her maternal grandparents, Scott and Phyllis Blake of Searsport; her mother, Heather Blake and companion, Jim Flanders, of Searsport; her father and companion, Troy Bickford and Kelly Poulin of Massachusetts; a brother, Kyle Blake of Searsport; a stepbrother and stepsister, Nicholas and Amanda Poulin of Massachusetts; and aunts and uncles, John Blake, Herbert and Kim Blake, Damon Bickford, Dale Bickford and Annette Bickford. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday. Spring interment will be at Grove Cemetery, Belfast. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to a local animal shelter of your choice.
