WINTERPORT – Martha Viola Wells, wife of the late George A. Wells, passed away March 9, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 6, 1929, in Bangor, daughter of Arthur and Mary (Murphy) Fish. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Senior Citizens Club, Winterport. She loved traveling, shopping and trying various restaurants, a favorite being Rosie’s Diner, Winterport, with her dear friend, Betty Dunham. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by seven brothers; and a grandson, H.A. “Buz” Wells II. Surviving her are three sons and one daughter and theirs spouses, H.A. “Buz” and Laurel Wells of Beddington, George A. and Lynne Wells of Winterport, Rodney F. and Theresa Wells of Winterport and Pamela L. and Richmond Dickey of Winterport; eight grandchildren, Stephanie and husband, Jamie Reynolds, George Wells Jr. and wife, Maria, Corey and Robby Wells, Jamie and husband, Casey Perry, Michelle Wells, Sherry and husband, Troy Gerrow, and Sheryl and husband, Justin Kelley; granddaughter-in-law, Shelley Wells; and several great-grandchildren, H.A. “Buz” Wells III, Courtnie Wood, Jacob, Nicky and Caitlyn Reynolds, Connor Perry, Devin Gerrow, Brandon, Zachary, Jeremy, Josh and Beth Kelley. She is also survived by one sister, Glenice M. French of Bangor; one brother-in-law, Richard Wells of Alaska; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held noon Friday, March 12, at Mount Hope Cemetery. Family and friends may gather 11:45 a.m. at the superintendent’s lodge, State Street entrance, Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
