BANGOR and CALAIS – The family of Myrtle Jean Loud announces her passing March 11, 2010, at Atlantic Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Calais. Mrs. Loud was born Feb. 13, 1911, in Saint John, New Brunswick, the daughter of the late John Carson Dempster and Phoebe Jane Penny. Mrs. Loud resided in Boston for many years, having been employed by Boston City Hospital and upon her retirement moved to Bangor. Mrs. Loud was married to Walter Loud of Milton, Mass., who passed away in 1950. Mrs. Loud is survived by nieces, Margaret Melvin, Audrey Sutton, Carol Boyce and Avice Forrester, all of Saint John, New Brunswick, and Janice Dempster of Birmingham, Ala.; and nephews, Douglas Dempster and wife, Dorothy, of Riverview, New Brunswick, Vaughan Dempster and wife, Sheila, of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, and Fred Ross of Los Angeles. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Loud was predeceased by brothers, Leslie of Birmingham, Ala., Roland of Boston, John, Harold, Andrew and James, all of Saint John, New Brunswick; and sisters, Nellie Forrester and husband, Roy, of Saint John, New Brunswick, and Margaret Ross and husband, Fred, of Los Angeles. Mrs. Loud was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A graveside service will take place at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
