LEVANT – Dennis D. Lockwood, 67, husband of Dawn (Hyatt) Lockwood, died March 12, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. He was born in 1942, in Oneonta, N.Y., the son of Durel and Virginia (Thayer) Lockwood. Dennis lived and worked in Connecticut for many years. He worked for Monsanto for 28 years and Turbo products for 10 years. He also spent five years delivering the Hartford Courant before moving to Maine where he delivered the Bangor Daily News in Stetson for two years. After his daily delivery, he would visit his mother and brother and together they would enjoy sharing coffee and donuts. Surviving are his mother, Virginia (Thayer) Lockwood Sprague; three children, Nanci-Lyn Lockwood, Dennis Lockwood Jr. and Andrew Lockwood; three grandchildren, Britney and Edward Wigglesworth, and Alexis Lockwood; six sisters, Linda Albert, Annie King, Elaine Neilander, Amber Young, Cindy Jones and Phyllis Wolf; two brothers, Danny and Chris Sprague; three sisters-in-law, Sherry Baer, April and Melanie Hyatt; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A family gathering celebrating his life will be held at a later date.
