BANGOR – Louise Emma (Dysart) Runnells, 102, beloved mother, grandmother and aunt, passed away March 18, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at home. She was born Feb. 12, 1908, in Bangor, the daughter of Edward M. and Capitola (Sawyer) Dysart. Louise was a graduate of Mattanawcook Academy and was the oldest living graduate of Bangor General School of Nursing, Class of 1931. She passed her nursing exams with high honors, receiving the Blue Seal Award. Louise worked for many years as a registered nurse for Eastern Maine Medical Center until her retirement. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed her daily rides. She is survived by her children, Marshall Runnells and wife, Diane, of Bangor, Gary Runnells and wife, Peggy, of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., Michael Runnells and wife, Carol, of Webster, N.Y., and Linda Ramsey and husband, Jimmie, of Tulsa, Okla.; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including Donald and Nancy Dysart of Carmel and their daughter, Judith Ann Dysart; and a special caregiver, Linda Thomas of Hudson. Louise will be remembered for her sense of humor and warm smile. She will be forever in our hearts. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Hammond Street Extension, Bangor, with her son-in-law, Jimmie Ramsey officiating.
