BANGOR – Paul H. Savage, 79, died March 20, 2010, with his sister, Barbara and her husband, Robert, by his side at the Maine Veterans Home. He was born Feb. 14, 1931, in Bangor, son of Joseph and Susan (Snow) Savage. Paul was a painter all his life, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid Red Sox fan. Paul was an honor student through junior and senior high school, receiving the French Medal for the highest scholastic award three years in a row. He was a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran. Paul enjoyed going with his friend and brother-in-law, Bob, every Friday doing errands and fun things. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Barbara Lunt and her husband, Robert, of Surry; and one brother, Richard and his wife, Betsy, of Glen, N.H. He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Edwin and Joseph Savage. Barbara and Robert thank the staff at Westgate Manor and the Maine Veterans Home for the wonderful care given to Paul. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 300 State St., Bangor, with Maj. William Pingrey officiating.
