Staten Island 12, UMPI 3
At Staten Island, N.Y., Tom DiPietro homered and doubled to drive in four runs in leading the College of Staten Island past the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
Tom DeWaters added four singles and two RBIs for the Dolphins. Joe Cassano and Cory Sullivan each had a double and two singles. Casey Mulligan pitched seven innings, allowing no earned runs and three hits, to pick up the win.
Seth Dorr led the Owls with two singles. Brian Andrews singled and drove in a run. Josh Conroy singled and scored and Corey Fournier had an RBI.

At Winter Haven, Fla., Trinity College hit five home runs in topping Colby College of Waterville.
James Wood hit two home runs and a double to pace Trinity. Alex Almeida homered and doubled. Matthew Sullivan and Kent Graham also homered.
Brandon Nieuw had two singles and a third-inning two-run triple to lead Colby. Ryan Conlon added a two-run single in the fifth. Richard Newton singled twice.

At Standish, University of Massachusetts Boston overcame an 8-5 deficit by scoring four runs in the eighth in defeating Saint Joseph’s College.
Mike Mattei hit a two-run double to cap the scoring in the eighth for the Beacons. Drew Tambling homered and singled with two RBIs.
Pat Moran doubled and homered for the Monks. Ian Lee had three singles, Nate Martin homered and Mike Burdin had a double and two RBIs.

Southern Maine splits
At Clermont, Fla., Heather Gilman doubled, singled and drove in three runs as the University of Southern Maine of Gorham topped Grinnell College 11-3 in the first game.
University of Wisconsin-Stout scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat the Huskies in the second game 3-2.
In the first game, Sarah Deroche hit a triple, two singles and knocked in two runs for Southern Maine. Erin Swarbrick singled and doubled with two RBIs.
Hannah Macintosh and Nani Jacobs combined to yield only three runs and one hit for the Huskies.
In the second game, Sammy Peterson hit a two-run single to tie it in the eighth at 2-2 before Wisconsin-Stout scored the winning run on a wild pitch.
Cerise Humphrey hit a two-run triple in the top of the eighth for Southern Maine.

Southern Virginia sweeps UMPI
At Buena Vista, Va., Southern Virginia University scored single runs in the third and fourth innings and held on to defeat the University of Maine- Presque Isle 2-1 in Thursday’s nightcap.
The Knights won the first game 10-2.
In the first game, Abigail Baxter had a home run, two singles and drove in five runs to lead Southern Virginia. Kyla Christmas added a double, single and three RBIs.
Desiree Smith singled and scored two runs for the Owls. Cassie Green and Carolyn Tuck singled and Kellie Peers knocked in a run.
In the second game, Chloe Stephens singled twice for the Knights. Christmas doubled and Abbie Fisher had an RBI.
Nicole Russell doubled and singled to lead UMPI. Brittany Humphrey doubled and Smith added a single and a run scored.

Catholic U. sweeps UMPI
At Washington, on Wednesday, Megan Rizzi had a pair of triples and an RBI and Meagan Daubman had a triple and two singles as Catholic University completed a sweep of UMaine-Presque Isle with a 12-hit attack in the nightcap, 14-3. Catholic U. won the first game 9-3.
Mary Kate Marquis had two singles for the winners and Cecilia Ehresman allowed seven hits over five innings to pick up the win.
It was Catholic’s 11th straight win.
Brittany Humphrey had two doubles and an RBI for UMPI. Lainey Herring had two singles and Nicole Russell had a run-scoring single.
In the opener, Rizzi had a double and two singles and knocked in a run and Megan Covert singled twice. Stephanie Clemente hurled four-hit ball over five innings for the win.
Kellie Peers doubled for UMPI and Cassie Green had an RBI single.
