SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. – Glenn Applebee LaPointe, 47, passed away March 20, 2010, due to an accident while helping his friends. He was an expert in land use and planning, real estate development, matters of money, interest rates, bond equity and innovative financing. He appreciated classical music and played banjo. He was a devout Christian without church affiliation, who tried to live by the “Golden Rule.” He kept his Bible at bedside, in his vehicle and at-hand in daily study and contemplation. Without equivocation, he believed in God. He was loyal, highly intelligent, physically strong, handsome, self contained and controlled. He tried to be a libertarian, but late in life could not reconcile some conservative principles that seemed to him not supportive of the “Golden Rule.” He loved the outdoors and sought solace from nature walking and working with his two dogs at his side, Blue and Puck. He is survived by his mother, Muriel Applebee di Bonaventura; father, Larry LaPointe; beloved stepmother, Dianne LaPointe of Bangor; sisters, Nicole LaPointe and Lorraine Sargent; special childhood friend, Herb Sargent; and many other family members. He leaves many friends who will miss his companionship through life. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to CASA of Bullitt County, P.O. Box 1025, Shepherdsville, KY 40165.
