BANGOR – Cynthia J. (Carlow) McTigue, 74, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 10, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 1, 1936, in Eaton the daughter of Delis and Phyllis (Graves) Carlow. Cynthia grew up in Bangor and was a 1954 graduate of Bangor High School. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother. Cynthia cherished the times she spent with her grandson, Michael. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Erwin “Jack” McTigue; sons, Michael McTigue and his wife, Pamela, of Falmouth and Joseph McTigue of Portland; daughters, Jacqualine McTigue of Bangor and Jane Reynolds of Bangor; sister, Ellen Southard and her husband, Forrest, of Bangor; one special grandchild, Michael; many nieces and nephews, and all of her friends at TOPS. Cynthia’s family thanks the staff at Bangor City Nursing and Grant 6 for all their care and support throughout her illness. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 16, with the Rev. Jerry Stone and the Rev. Bette Stone co-officiating. Interment will be after at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ohio Street, Bangor. After the services the family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
