PLEASANT POINT – James G. “King” Moore, 65, died April 10, 2010, at his family home. He was the youngest living son of Fredrick J. and Mary (Neptune) Moore. King attended Shead High School and earned his GED in the U.S. Army, in which he served from 1965 to 1968 with the 4th Company Engineers. The majority of his military life was in the demilitarized zone in South Korea and in Wildfleckin, Germany. He retired from the Chip Handling Department at Georgia Pacific/Domtar paper mill. King’s life passions were deep-sea fishing and moose hunting in Springfield and Jackman. He really enjoyed playing poker with his friends, and spending time with his nephew/brother, Joseph. Surviving are his dear love, Barbara Newell; friends, Gus Look and Sugum Francis; very special nephew/brother, Joseph D. Mitchell Sr. and his wife, Deborah; his only living sibling, Fredrick J. Moore II; many special friends; his care provider, Eileen Runcy; his nurses, Kelley Reiley and Annette Newell. He had special nieces, Rose Newell and Veronica Moore; along with many more nieces, nephews, friends and godchildren, Joseph “Toast” D. Mitchell Jr., Edward Sockabasin and Lynn Taisey. Friends may call beginning 2 p.m. Monday, April 12, at 31 Warrior Road, Pleasant Point. A Mass of Christian burial will held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, at St. Ann R.C. Church, Pleasant Point, with Father James Plourde officiating. Per his request, a military honors burial will be afterward at Tribal Cemetery.
