Monks sweep Albertus Magnus
At Standish, Sam Murray pitched a three-hit shutout with four strikeouts to lead Saint Joseph’s College by Albertus Magnus College 4-0 in the first game of a Sunday doubleheader. The Monks won by a duplicate score in the second game In the first game, Todd Keneborus singled twice and knocked in a run for Saint Joseph’s. Chris Campbell hit two singles while Mike Burdin posted a double and an RBI. In the second game, Keneborus tripled, doubled, and singled with two RBIs to spark the Monks. Kevin Chamberlain pitched five innings, allowing two hits and striking out five to earn the win.
Castleton sweeps Thomas
At Waterville, Billy Sisko pitched a complete game, striking out 11 and giving up one earned run, as Castleton State College defeated Thomas College 12-1 in the second game of a Sunday doubleheader The Terriers dropped the first game 3-2 In the first game, David Brandt registered a triple, a single and an RBI to lead Castleton State Tom Desjardins doubled, singled and drove in a run to pace Thomas In the second game, Jack Lancelin posted a single, two runs and three RBIs to propel Castleton.
Colby sweeps Bowdoin
At Brunswick, the Colby College baseball team earned its first NESCAC wins over Bowdoin College since 2002, sweeping a doubleheader from the Polar Bears on Sunday, winning the opener 2-1 before taking the nightcap 9-1. In the opener, Matt Moore pitched six innings, giving up seven hits and one earned run to earn the win for the Mules. Ryan Conlon and Mike Mastrocola each drove in a run Dan Findley posted two singles and an RBI to pace Bowdoin. Joe Comizio chipped in with a pair of singles. In the nightcap, Kenneth Kaufman hit two singles and knocked in two runs to lead Colby. Nikolas Atsalis tallied two singles and an RBI while Conlon hit an RBI double Reid Auger, Brett Gorman, Oliver Van Zant and Comizio each singled for the Polar Bears.
Huskies sweep Western Conn.
At Gorham, Collin Henry pitched a complete game, scattering nine hits with two earned runs and 10 strikeouts to lead the University of Southern Maine by Western Connecticut State University 6-3 in the first game of a Sunday doubleheader The Huskies took the second game 11-6. In the first game, Anthony Pisani hit four singles and drove in a run to spark Southern Maine. Collin Henry posted a double and two RBIs while Nick Grady had two singles and an RBI. In the second game, David Ricker hit a home run, a double and a single to lead the Huskies. Roberto Valenti hit three singles while Mike Eaton tallied a double, a single and three RBIs.

Husson sweeps Green Mountain
At Bangor, Kara Poirier pitched a three-hit shutout as Husson University defeated Green Mountain College 8-0 in the first game of a Saturday doubleheader. Husson completed the sweep with a 5-1 win in the second game. In the first game, Dottie Cameron hit three doubles and knocked in three runs to spark Husson. Sarah Risser and Brianna Webster each posted two singles and two RBIs while Poirier chipped in with an RBI. In the second game, Megan Richard pitched a complete game, giving up three hits and no earned runs with seven strikeouts for Husson. Aimee Mortensen and Megan Bradstreet each had a triple, a single and an RBI. Poirier tripled while Cameron added a double.
Maine Maritime wins four
At Castine, Maine Maritime Academy pitchers allowed no more than three runs in any game and secured a weekend sweep over Castleton State College and Green Mountain College to improve to 19-1 and 10-0 in the North Atlantic Conference. The Mariners defeated Castleton State on Saturday 6-3 and 8-3. On Sunday, Maine Maritime topped Green Mountain 3-2 and 10-2. In Saturday’s first game, Leah Jackson homered and drove in three runs for the Mariners. Megan Russell had a double, two singles and scored two runs. Mallery Stanley had two RBIs. McKenzie Burke struck out seven through eight innings. Sarah Flore doubled and singled for Castleton State. In Saturday’s second game, Jackson homered with two RBIs for MMA. Nicole Poland added a solo home run. Stanley doubled with two RBIs and Russell singled twice. Casey McCloskey had nine strikeouts in seven innings. Megan Blongy had two singles for Castleton and Abbey Hewes doubled. In Sunday’s first game, Poland hit a solo home run for the Mariners. Jackson doubled and singled with two RBIs. Burke and Samantha Rheaume both had a double and a single and Russell singled twice. Chelsea Paul doubled and knocked in two runs to lead Green Mountain. In Sunday’s second game, Jackson tripled and drove in three runs for MMA. Poland had a two-run homer, her third HR in three games. Brittany Hunt tripled and singled and Stanley hit two doubles. Emily Heale and Katie Jablonski each had a single and scored a run for Green Mountain.
Eagles sweep Castleton State
At Bangor, Husson University won its fourteenth straight game with a doubleheader sweep of Castleton State College Sunday. The Eagles defeated Castleton 6-0 in the first game and 6-1 in the second. In the first game, Kody Lyon scattered eight hits and struck out eight to earn the shutout for Husson. Dorothy Cameron posted a double, two singles and an RBI. Aimee Mortensen and Brianna Webster each had two singles and an RBI while Megan Richard added a pair of singles. In the second game, Nicole Sargent pitched a complete game giving up six hits and one earned run to earn the win for the Eagles. Sarah Risser registered two singles and two RBIs while Diann Ramsey singled twice. Cameron, Webster and Sargent each chipped in with an RBI.
Maine sweeps Albany
At Albany, N.Y., the University of Maine Black Bears swept a Sunday doubleheader from the University at Albany to extend their winning streak to five games. Maine won the first game 5-1 and took the second 7-4. In the first game, Maine scored five runs in the first three innings and sophomore Ashley Kelley of Hermon pitched a five-hitter to earn her ninth win of the season. Stephanie George hit a three-run home run to center in the third inning. The first two runs scored on an Albany error. In the second game, Albany took a 4-1 lead in the fourth after scoring three in the first inning, but Maine tied it in the sixth and junior Terren Hall of Bucksport hit a three-run home run in the seventh to win it. In the sixth, Kristen Calvetti hit an RBI groundout and Kirstin Allen hit a two-run double into the left center field gap with one out. Beth Spoehr notched the win with 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Maine is now 7-1 in America East Conference play and Albany is 5-6. The teams will play the third game on Monday at noon.
USM sweeps UMass Dartmouth
At North Dartmouth, Mass., Chelsie Eugley of Thomaston and Katie Davis each went 4-for-8 and combined for 10 RBIs while leading the University of Southern Maine to a doubleheader sweep of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, 4-3 and 16-6, Sunday. In the first game, Sarah Cusack had a double, two singles and an RBI to help pace the USM Huskies. Alexandra Perdomo notched her first win of the season with a seven-hitter. Eugley had two doubles and an RBI, and Jess Hayden of Madison had a double, a single and an RBI. Samantha Howarth led the Corsairs with a double, a single and an RBI. In the second game, Davis led the way with a solo home run, a two-run double, an RBI single and a bases-loaded walk. Heather Gilman of Fairfield belted a grand slam and three singles for the Huskies. Eugley had three singles and three RBIs. Elizabeth Mulready led the Corsairs with three singles and an RBI.

Husson wins two games
At Bangor, Ben Landry of Lewiston scored 17 goals over the weekend to lead Husson University to a sweep. Husson knocked off Thomas College 20-2 Saturday at Boucher Field and blitzed Emerson College 29-4 Sunday. On Saturday, Landry netted seven goals and grabbed an assist to power Husson. Derrick Schlimm registered five goals and an assist for the 7-6 Eagles. Mitch Heaps had three goals and an assist while Dillon Shaw scored two goals. Anthony Diaz posted a goal and five assists. Alex Ryan and Chris Lloyd each chipped in with a goal. Taylor Quinn made 10 saves. Kevin Averill and Sean Machin each scored a goal for 2-5 Thomas. Jesse Morkeski stopped 30 of 65 shots. On Sunday, Landry scored 10 goals. The Eagles have scored 100 goals in the past four games while allowing only seven goals. Anthony Diaz had six goals and six assists for the 8-6 Eagles. Mitch Heaps had six goals and four assists and Mike Brown had three goals and three assists. Chris Pelletier, Derrick Schlimm, Dillon Shaw and Mike Lapoint each scored a goal. Alex Ryan had two assists. Brian Dorrington scored two goals for 3-6 Emerson. Zoe Fisk and Dan Gold also scored. Tyler Quinn had two saves in the first half for Husson while John Hooper had six saves in the second half. Braden Campbell had 27 saves on 56 shots for Emerson.
MMA splits weekend games
Maine Maritime Academy split a pair of weekend games, losing to Castleton State College 16-10 on Saturday and beating Green Mountain College 18-1 on Sunday. In Saturday’s game at Castleton, Vt., Michael Martinez scored a career high eight goals to lead Castleton State to victory. David DeGhetto made 11 saves. Andrew DiSalvo scored six goals to pace the Mariners. Wade Mondoux netted two goals while Tom Houle and Christopher Keiley each added one. Kevin Boucher stopped 15 shots. In Sunday’s game at Poultney, Vt., Keiley posted five goals and two assists to spark 6-4 Maine Maritime. Wade Mondoux scored four goals while Tom Houle and Andrew DiSalvo scored three apiece. Ryan Williams tallied two goals and Dennis St. Pierre added one. Kevin Boucher and Erik Milles combined for four saves on 10 shots. Keith Drinkwater stopped nine of 53 shots for 1-7 Green Mountain.
