BAR HARBOR – Alice W. Ryan, 66, went home to be with the Lord April 22, 2010. She was born Sept. 4, 1943, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of Albert F. and Kathleen W. (Stanley) Young. She worked as an insurance agent for more than 30 years for Charlie Sawyer, Fred C. Lyman and J.C. Milliken. Alice was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a past member of the Rebekah’s of Bar Harbor, a member of Bayside Grange and Church of God, Ellsworth. Alice was truly loved and will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her brother, Terrance Kelley and wife, Linda, of Hulls Cove; two sisters, Helen K. Miller and husband, Steve, of Sulphur, Okla., and Margaret Ann Porter and husband, Tim, of Bar Harbor; one sister-in-law, Brenda R. Young; aunts, Margaret Bishop, Ethel Stanley and Grace Grindle, all of Bar Harbor; nine nieces and nephews; many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Alice was predeceased by her husband, John J. Ryan Sr.; and her brothers, William R. Young and Michael L. Kelley. Graveside memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor, with Pastors Lee and Maria Hemminger officiating.
