DOVER-FOXCROFT – Germaine (Perusse) Hanson, 97, the devoted wife of the late Lincoln A. Hanson and beloved mother of three daughters, passed away Friday, April 23, 2010, with her daughters at her side at a Bangor health care facility. Born Oct. 26, 1910, in Fortierville, Quebec, she was the last surviving sibling of four brothers and three sisters. At age 6, she and her family moved to the United States, eventually settling in Danbury, Conn. She and Lincoln raised their family in Redding, Conn., before moving to Maine in 1972. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Germaine loved her family deeply and brought sunlight and a positive outlook to life to all those around her. She considered life a blessing and touched the hearts of all those who had the privilege to know and love her. She left a legacy of caring, loving and kindness in the hearts of all. She is survived by three daughters, Joan and her husband, Rodger Wutzl, of Rhode Island and Vermont, Barbara and her husband, Jerry Ostrosky, of Dover-Foxcroft and Katherine and her husband, Bruce Robie, of Holden; six grandchildren, Rodger and his wife, Linae Wutzl, Brant and his wife, Beth Wutzl, Heidi and her husband, Dan Riddle, Seth Ostrosky, Benjamin Robie and Grace Robie; as well as five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a special sister-in-law, Jean Hanson of Dover-Foxcroft; many nieces and nephews. With profound and heartfelt gratitude, the family thanks all the staff and caregivers at Westgate Manor, Bangor, for their loving care, kindness and friendship to Germaine, as well as her daughters during the time she resided there. A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, April 30, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Dover-Foxcroft, with Deacon Fred Harrigan, of St. Thomas, and the Rev. Renee Garrett, of All Souls’ Church, Bangor, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Gray Cemetery.
