BUCKSPORT – Joanne W. LeClair, 77, died April 24, 2010, with her family at her side at home. Jodie was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Castine, the daughter of William Sumner and Virginia Pearl (Snowman) Wilson. She graduated from Bucksport High School, married and raised a family of six, and worked at St. Regis Paper Mill for more than 10 years in the wood processing department. Jodie was a very active member of Elm Street Congregation Church, Bucksport, where she was a member of the woman’s group, book club and prayer group, where her mission was making thousands of prayer squares for our soldiers to carry in their pocket while serving for our country. She enjoyed living at her camp on Craig’s Pond during the summers for more than 50 years, having fun with her children and grandchildren, telling stories and jokes and playing games. Crossword puzzles were a passion for Jodie. She was a joy to know and always wore a smile and had a terrific sense of humor. She is survived by six children, David Wilson and his wife, Mary, of Augusta, Martha and her husband, Larry MacLeod, of Brewer, Rebecca LeClair of Bucksport, Roberta Freeman and her husband, Dennis, of Manchester, N.H., Allison LeClair of Bucksport and Gregory LeClair and his wife, Katrina, of Orland; 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family extends a special thanks to Pat Adams, the Rev. Linda Smith and New Hope Hospice. A gathering for friends and family will be held at a later date at the family camp. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Jason Kenneth Finch Memorial Fund, Scholarship Trust, care of Bangor Savings Bank, 232 North St., Calais, ME 04619. Arrangements by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, Bucksport.
