BREWER – Inez M. Farrell, 96, died April 28, 2010, at a Brewer health care facility. She was born Feb. 11, 1914, in Island Falls, the daughter of George A. and Ethel V. (Shields) McNelly. Inez was employed with W. T. Grant Co. and Savings and Loan Association. She later owned and operated Riverside Greenhouse, Brewer. At age 65, Inez took a life saving course to teach swimming lessons to children at the Bangor Y. She then began doing aerobics and started teaching. One of the programs she became known for was called, The Young at Heart, choreographing her own music and applying the routine to music. She continued this until about age 82. Inez was known for her beautiful gardens and her love of birds and wildlife. She enjoyed her many friends and life after retirement at Ellen Leach Home, Brewer. She was predeceased by her husband, Everett Farrell; and a granddaughter, Amber L. Niemczyk. Surviving are one daughter, Ethelann Stanzione and her husband, Ralph, of Enfield, Conn.; grandchildren, Linda A. Angelica and her husband, Dennis, of Wolcott, Conn., and Brinda A. Sims and her husband, Howard, of Calera, Ala.; a grandson-in-law, Stephen Niemczyk of Enfield, Conn.; great-grandchildren, Brian Baranowski and his wife, Nora, Aaron Joy, Jason Niemczyk and his wife, Aimee, Vikki Garcia, Kimi Baranowski, Kellie Niemczyk and her fiance, Mark Ryan, and Daniel Niemczyk; and great-great-grandchildren, Holland and Benjamin Baranowski, Haley Joy, and Andrew, Jocelyn and Alina Niemczyk. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer.
