Kasey Brewer hit a solo home run and Matt Amnot had a two-run single for the Panthers, who scored just one earned run.
Brandon Bouchard’s infield hit in the fifth broke up a no-hit bid by Central’s Brendan York.

Bucksport’s Mindy Pye doubled in the first inning and scored on a double by Kacie Hurd. Abby Yeo tallied 11 strikeouts.

Bowdoin, Bates split

At Lewiston, Joe Pace pitched a five-hit shutout to lead Bowdoin College of Brunswick past Bates College 2-0 in Saturday’s first game and help the Polar Bears to clinch the second seed in the NESCAC East Division tournament.
Bates won the nightcap 7-2.
In the first game, Joe Comizio had two singles and Brett Gorman had a double and a single for Bowdoin.
Chris Burke doubles for Bates.
In the second game, Pat Murphy and Tom Beaton both hit three singles for Bates. Ryan Heide pitched 8¤ in-nings and picked up his eighth win, breaking the previous school record for wins in a season.
Reid Auger homered and singled with two RBIs for the Polar Bears.

Keene St. sweeps Southern Maine
At Keene, N.H., Keith Patnode hit a two-run homer to break the 10-10 tie in the seventh and lead Keene State Col-lege to victory over the University of Southern Maine 12-10 in Saturday’s first game.
Keene State won the second game 12-6.
In the first game, Kyle Morrill homered with four RBIs for Keene State.
John Carey and Mike Eaton hit home runs for Southern Maine.
In the second game, Bobby Doyon had two singles, a home run and six RBIs for the Owls.
Southern Maine’s Collin Henry had two singles, a homer and two RBIs.

Castleton wins NEAC East title
At Castleton, Vt., Ted Mills hit a two-out single in the 11th inning, scoring Billy Manley from second to give Cas-tleton State a 6-5 victory over Husson University on Sunday the North Eastern Atlantic Conference East
champion-ship.
Husson earned two wins Saturday, eliminating Lyndon State 9-3 and Thomas College of Waterville 16-12 in 10 in-nings. Castleton beat Thomas 9-3 over Husson University 6-5 Sunday.
In the championship game, Matt Eisenhuth singled and drove in two runs for Castleton State.
Kyle Vanidestine led Husson of Bangor with a home run, two singles and four RBIs. Ethan Guerrette hit two dou-bles.
In Saturday’s first game, Jake Arthers had two singles, a home run and two RBIs for Husson.
Robert Trucott led Lyndon State with three singles and an RBI.
In Saturday’s second game, Eisenhuth hit two doubles and drove in two runs for Castleton State.
Tim Costa and Mike Busa each singled twice for Thomas.
In Saturday’s third game, Arthers hit a double, three singles and scored three runs for Husson. Guerrette added four singles and three RBIs and Shawn Smith had four singles.

St. Joseph’s wins GNAC title
At East Providence, R.I., Craig Woodbrey hit a two-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning to second base, scoring Dan Achorn from second to give No. 2 Saint Joseph’s College of Standish the Great Northeast Athletic Con-ference championship with a 5-4 win over No. 1 Suffolk University Sunday.
The Monks beat Suffolk 12-4 on Saturday.
In Sunday’s game, St. Joseph’s Mason Roberge pitched 6ª scoreless innings out of the bullpen to earn the win. Chris Campbell doubled and singled with two RBIs. Mike Pratt had a single and two RBIs.
Andrew Babb had a triple, single and two RBIs to lead Suffolk.
In Saturday’s game, Ben Grant-Roy tripled, doubled and singled with five RBIs to lead the Monks. Mike Burdin scored four runs and Travis Adams had three singles.

Colby splits with Plymouth State
At Waterville Sunday, the Colby College White Mules ended their season with a doubleheader split, beating Ply-mouth State University 9-3 in the first game and losing the second 7-6.
In the first game, Matt Moore allowed eight hits in a complete-game effort and the Mules scored six runs in the second to take the opener.
Mike Cappiello hit a three-run homer for the Panthers.
In the second game, David Tammaro had two singles and two RBIs while Bryant Lausberg had two singles and an RBI.
John Lerner ripped a two-run homer and singled for the Mules. Mike Mastracola and Taro Gold each had two sin-gles.

Husson wins NAC title

At Bangor, junior Nicole Sargent tossed a no-hitter in leading Husson University past Maine Maritime Academy of Castine to win the North Atlantic Conference championship.
It’s the second straight NAC title for the Eagles, who advance to the NCAA tournament.
Sargent, of Sullivan, struck out five and walked one.
Courtney Hill hit a leadoff double in the third inning, stole third and scored on a wild pitch. Cassie Berry hit a two-run home run in the fifth. Kara Poirier and Diann Ramsey doubled.
Berry was named tournament MVP. Hill and Nicole Sargent were also named to the all-tournament team.
Mallery Blakney and Alexandra Kriegel were named from Thomas. Emily Coye and Kaitlyn Barlett were honored from the University of MaineFarmington. From MMA, Casey McCloskey, Nicole Poland and McKenzie Burke were named to the team.

BU takes 2 of 3 from Maine
At Kessock Field in Orono, Cassidi Hardy kept the Black Bears off balance, allowing just three hits and no runs in 14 innings of work and picking up two wins to lead Boston University to two wins against Maine over the weekend, but the Bears still managed to clinch their first America East playoff spot since 2006.
In Saturday’s doubleheader, the visiting, first-place Terriers blanked Maine 5-0 in the first game, but Maine came back to take the second 7-2 behind a strong effort in the circle by Cayleigh Montano.
Hardy (16-7) stifled the Bears again Sunday, pitching a two-hitter in a 6-0 victory.
On Saturday, Terren Hall of Bucksport hit a three-run home run in the sixth, and also had a two-run double to pace Maine’s offense in the second game. Alexis Souhlaris had two singles and a stolen base while Kirstin Allen also hit two singles. Montano allowed just four hits and two runs.
April Setterlund singled twice and drove in one BU run.
In the first game, singles by Souhlaris and Whitney Spangler were the only hits allowed by Hardy.
Setterlund had a double, a single and an RBI. Christina Valdes doubled
twice.
On Sunday, Whitney Tuthill provided all the offense Hardy would need with a two-run single in the third. BU scored three unearned runs in the second.

Bowdoin sweeps Bates
At Lewiston, Clare Ronan hit a one-out, two-run home run in the 10th inning to lift Bowdoin College of Brunswick over Bates College 7-5 in Saturday’s second game.
The Polar Bears, who won the first game 9-3, now have a school-record 30 wins.
In the first game, Ronan homered and singled with two RBIs for Bowdoin. Amy Hackett had a triple, single and two RBIs. Kara Nilan had two singles and two runs scored.
Courtney Talcott and Monica Berube both doubled and drove in a run.
In the second game, Hillary Smyth doubled and singled with an RBI for Bowdoin. Molly Nestor had a double and two RBIs.
Mary Lewis hit four singles for Bates and Leah Maciejewski had three singles and an RBI.

Tufts also won the second game 7-1.
In the first game, Rebecca DiBiase pitched a shutout, allowing five hits, one walk and striking out one for Tufts.
Five Colby players singled.
In the second game, Casey Sullivan homered and triple with two RBIs for Tufts.
Lizzi Fort hit two singles for Colby and Alyssa Lepore added single and an RBI.

MEN’S LACROSSE
Husson 11, Johnson State 7

At Bangor, Ben Landry scored six goals as Husson University defeated Johnson State College in the North Atlan-tic Conference quarterfinals Saturday.
The Eagles play Castleton State College in the semifinals Wednesday.
Nick Brown had two goals for the 10-7 Eagles. Anthony Diaz and Derrick Schlimm both had a goal and an assist. Mitch Heaps also scored a goal.
Alex Petti, Erik Tillberg and Billy Noyes scored two goals each for 4-8 Johnson State. Justin Connolly also scored.
Tyler Quinn of Husson saved 11 of 18 shots. Johnson State’s Branden Sawyer turned away 24 of 35 shots.

Maine Maritime 22, St. Joseph’s 6
At Castine, Andrew Disalvo tallied five goals and six assists in leading Maine Maritime Academy to victory over Saint Joseph’s College of Standish in the North Atlantic Conference quarterfinals Saturday.
The 7-6 Mariners take on Mount Ida College in the semifinals on Wednesday.
Christopher Kelley had six goals and two assists for the Mariners. Tom Houle had three goals and an assist. Toddy Murphy had two goals and six assists and Dennis St. Pierre totaled two goals and three assists. Wade Mon-doux scored two goals while Michael Vangelist and Ryan Gannon each recorded a goal.
Paul Dolewa led the 10-8 Monks with three goals and an assist. Benson Pasquarello had a goal and an assist. Elliott Lamarre and Luke Lafreniere also scored.
MMA’s Erik Milles stopped 15 of 21 shots while Marco Stefano and Christopher Driscoll combined for 11 saves on 33 shots for Saint Joseph’s.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Keuka 16, Husson 15

At Poultney, Vt., Brandy Shafer scored an unassisted goal with 3:21 remaining to lead Keuka College of New York past Husson University of Bangor for the North Atlantic Conference championship.
Shafer tallied seven goals and two assists for 10-5 Keuka. Laura Dougherty scored three goals and Trista Partridge and Brittany Murray both added two goals.
Kim Gambon, Megan Clement, Jami Ladd, Caitlyn Butterfield and Shelby Bradford each scored two goals for 11-2-1 Husson. Alexandra Laniewski had a goal and two assists. Alex Huffman and Nikki Burns also scored.
Keuka’s Molly Hogan saved 18 of 33 shots while Kristen Capen and Nikki Burns combined for seven saves on 23 shots for Husson.
