CAMDEN – Luella “LuLu” Phyllis Theriault passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010, surrounded by her children at her home. Luella fought a courageous battle with cancer inspiring her children, family and friends. Born April 3, 1928, in Van Buren, she was the daughter of Donat and Annie Madore. Luella was a homemaker who raised seven children. After her children were grown, Luella worked at Haskell and Corthell in downtown Camden for several years. She enjoyed working with the public and made lifelong friends with her coworkers. Luella enjoyed visiting with family and friends, and traveling with her children. She also enjoyed theatre, music and any movies with Gary Cooper or Russell Crow, and doing her daily crossword puzzles. She is survived by her children, Donna Olson of Norton, Mass., Glenn Theriault and his wife, Carrie, of Norwich, Conn., James Theriault of Sarasota, Fla., Kim Theriault and husband, Sam Shay, of San Francisco, Lisa Jimenez of Montville, John Theriault and his wife, Lori, of Bangor and Todd Theriault of Watertown, Mass. She was a wonderful and proud grandmother to her 18 grandchildren, including Heather Ritter and her husband, Jamie, Michael Theriault and his wife, Heidi, Kevin Theriault and his wife, Heather, Christina, David and Keith Olson, Melissa Rohan and her husband, Matt, Steven Theriault, Natalie, Nicholas, Katie and Alex Jimenez, Ian, Adam and Emile Theriault-Shay, and Ben, Sam and Nate Theriault. She has five great-grandchildren, Anna, James, Lily, Henry and Gavin, and was eagerly awaiting the birth of two additional great-grandchildren this spring. She is also survived by her siblings, Bernard Madore, Roberta Kelly, Donald Madore and his wife, Louise, Carol Surapine and her husband, Ray, and Michael Madore. Luella was predeceased by her parents; grandson, Christopher Jimenez; and siblings, Gerard Madore, Roderick Madore and Charlene Dynes. The Theriault family expresses special thanks to all the friends and family who have visited Luella during this past year to share memories and well wishes. Luella’s unconditional love, support and friendship will be missed by all who knew her. Family and friends are invited to visit 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 10, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland. A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, at Our Lady of Good Hope Church, Seven Union St., Camden, with the Rev. Mark Reinhardt officiating. Interment will be afterward at Pine Grove Cemetery, Searsmont. While flowers are welcome, donations would be appreciated to PBMC Cancer Care Center, 22 White St., Rockland, ME 04841.
