DERRY, N.H., and HAMPTON – Eleanor L. DiLuigi, 84, died May 3, 2010, at a Derry, N.H., health care center. She was born in Schenectady, N.Y., the daughter of Ray and Adelaide Beshgetoor. In 1932 Eleanor’s family moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where they lived until 1941. She returned to New Jersey, graduating from Merchantville High School in 1944 and the University of Pennsylvania in 1948. Eleanor loved the University of Pennsylvania and never missed a reunion. She taught for many years in the Centennial School District and after obtaining a master’s degree from Temple University, became a reading specialist. Eleanor also loved to travel. She lived in Argentina for nine years and was fluent in Spanish. She traveled to Mexico, Canada and many countries in Europe, and especially loved sailing on schooners off the coast of Maine. Eleanor lived life to the fullest. She was a loving mother to her children and was the world’s best mom. Eleanor is survived by her sister, Shirley Beshgetoor Hannigan of Pennsauken, N.J.; and four children, Christine Ramsay of Orland, Scott Ramsay and wife, Alice Ramsay, of Derry, N.H., Kathleen Ramsay Caudill and husband, Jeffery Caudill, of Nellysford, Va., and Nancy Ramsay and partner, Mary Ann Brody, of Rochester, N.Y. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A service honoring her life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, with the Rev. Canon Mary Ann Taylor, pastoral associate of St. John’s Episcopal Church, presiding. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Condolences may be offered at www.kileyandfoley.com.
