BRADFORD – Lena M. Morrison, 86, died May 5, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Nov. 1, 1923, in Kingman, the daughter of Chester and Mattie (Leighton) Richardson. Lena was a homemaker and worked with her husband, Carl, in the Gun Shop, which they owned on Broadway for 40 years. She was a wonderful cook, lemon and banana cream pies, baked beans and homemade yeast bread Saturday nights, and also made mincemeat and pickles each fall. Lena is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Carl E. Morrison of Bradford; one son and his wife, Carl E. Morrison Jr. and Kay of Bald Knob, Ark.; three daughters, Eva Evans of Bradford, Gail and her husband, Brent Gary, of Bangor, and Linda Beck of Bangor; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 10, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with Pastor Donald Booker, of Bradford Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call noon until the time of the service 2 p.m. Monday. Interment will be afterward at Maple Grove Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the interment at the Family Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
