NEW SWEDEN – Frederic “Penner” Ringdahl Jr., 78, died May 7, 2010, at his residence after a period of declining health. He was born July 5, 1931, in Caribou, son of the late Frederic and Martha (Hedman) Ringdahl. Penner was a graduate of Caribou High School and attended Gustaf Adolph Lutheran Church. He was a self-employed farmer in the New Sweden area for a number of years. He then worked as a potato broker for Beaver Brook Farms and more recently was employed by the New Sweden Highway Department. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Elaine Ringdahl of New Sweden; one son and daughter-in-law, Ric and Tammy Ringdahl of West Gardiner; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cindy Peterson of Ennis, Mont., Marcia and Tim Stohlberg of Caribou and Carrie and George Sawyer of Gray; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorial services will be announced at a later date by Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Mr. Ringdahl may do so through Gustaf Adolph Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
