BIDDEFORD – Duane Thompson, 45, died peacefully May 12, 2010, at Gosnell Hospice House, Scarborough. He was born Oct. 23, 1964, in Presque Isle, son of Ronald and Theresa (L’Italien) Thompson. Duane was the second youngest of six children. He attended Presque Isle High School, married and then moved away. He worked at Bath Iron Works and also worked for Wal-Mart in management for 25 years, where he was loved and well respected. At the time of his death, he was employed at Consolidated Container Co., Portland. Everyone at Wal-Mart loved Duane as a friend and appreciated his work ethic. Duane was a great fisherman and took pride in always catching the biggest fish. He loved fishing with his brother in Presque Isle. He loved football, hockey and Texas Hold ’em, which he thought he was a pro at. Duane was an incredible husband and father. He loved spending time with his girls, truly a family man. He loved his mother, was a great brother and he will be sadly missed by all. In addition to his mother of Presque Isle, he is survived by his wife, Terry (Parady) Thompson; daughters, Tiffany Bowman and her husband, Mike, Emily and Holly Thompson, all of Biddeford; brothers and sisters, Sue Hay and her husband, Bill, of Mapleton, Steven Thompson and his wife, Vicki, Paul Thompson and his wife, Lisa, Ellen Grass and her husband, Brent, all of Presque Isle, and Mark Thompson of Limestone; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, May 17, at St. Mary’s Chapman Street Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Morency officiating.
