WEST CHAPMAN – Damey C. Boucher, 61, wife of Claude Boucher, died May 24, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born March 2, 1949, in Keegan, the daughter of Hartley and Winnie (Gagnon) Gardiner. Damey was a very dedicated worker who worked for Converse Shoe Co., The Aroostook Medical Center and Sodexho/Aramark Foods. Damey always enjoyed a good game of bingo and enjoyed visiting the slots, where she was lucky on several occasions. In addition to her husband of 39 years, Damey is survived by her children: a daughter, Laurie Boucher of Chapman; and a son, Scott Boucher and his wife, Dena, and their daughter, Claire, all of Bangor; her sister, Arlene and her husband, Raymond, of Wallingford, Conn.; her sister, Linda Lovely and her husband, David, of Mapleton; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, Leo and Jane Boucher of Chapman, Larry and Louise Boucher of Chapman, Regent and Andrea Boucher of Michigan, Rino and Flora Boucher of Chapman, Marcelle and Ben Michaud of Mapleton and Geraldine and Gerald Cyr of Connecticut; aunt and uncle, Eva and Armand Ouellette of Van Buren; aunt, Helen Gardiner of Mapleton; aunt, Marion Gardiner of Sabattus; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ligourie and Marie Boucher, she was predeceased by an infant sister, a brother, a brother-in-law, many aunts and uncles. Damey’s family thanks family, friends, doctors and nurses for all the love and support they have shown her. At Damey’s request, there will be no calling hours. A short, casual family ceremony will be held 2 p.m. May 27 at Southside Cemetery, Mapleton, with Pastor Nathan Gardiner officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a cause dear to Damey’s heart the last few years of her life – American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life at www.relayforlife. org/aroostookme under team UMPI Owls or Laurie Boucher.
