MILLINOCKET – Carleton J. Mackin, 81, passed away May 21, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 6, 1928, in Millinocket, the son of Charles H. and Eva A. (Williams) Mackin, the youngest of 16 children. Carleton retired from the Millinocket Public Works department in 1980. He was a Korean War veteran, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Geraldean (Harding) Mackin; son, Carleton II of Millinocket and his children, Jessee, Amanda and Ashley; son, Danny and his wife, Prescilla, of West Enfield and their children, Melissa and Kristi; his only daughter, Geri Dawn and her husband, John Michaud, of Millinocket and their children, Johnna and Kelly; son, Jamie and his wife, Doreen, of Millinocket and their children, Jimmy, Sarah and Naomi; his only great-grandson, James; and one brother, Lawrence Mackin. He will be sadly missed by his family and his dog, Telos. He was predeceased by his son, Kris, in 1977. At Carleton’s request, there will be no funeral service.
