STUARTS DRAFT, Va., and GUILFORD – Roberta Lyford Thulin, 74, went to be with the Lord June 3, 2010. She was born Sept. 6, 1935, in Milo, a daughter of the late Merle and Jennie Lyford. She graduated from Piscataquis Community High School, Guilford. Roberta and husband, Donald Thulin, have lived in Connecticut, New Mexico and Virginia. They have been active members of West Waynesboro Church of Christ for many years. She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Donald; a son, William Stride; a daughter, Cheryl Welch and husband, Jim, of Tennessee, and their children, Daniel, Becky and Tim; stepdaughters and husbands, Meg Sharoh and Bryon of New York, and their children, Jacob, Angela and Ben, and Laurie Ryan and Dave of Connecticut, and their children, Patrick and Meaghan; her sisters and husbands, Bea Knowles and Reg, Joyce Carlson of Massachusetts, and Peg Valvo and Bob of Connecticut; her brothers and wives, Ron Lyford and Lottie, Dave Lyford and Lettie, Stanley Lyford and Nadine, and John Lyford and Lynn; two sisters-in-law, Connie Lyford and Cindy Lyford; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Stride; and by three brothers, Austin, Donald and Wayne. Services were held June 9 in Virginia. A service in Maine is planned for July 30.
