ORLAND and FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Jeffrey Alan Chandler passed away unexpectedly Oct. 31, 2009, in Presque Isle. He was born Feb. 22, 1962, the son of Earl and Lorraine Chandler of Orland and Bonita Springs, Fla. Jeff was a graduate of Bucksport High School and attended the University of Maine, Orono. After extensive traveling while serving more than 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, he settled in Fairbanks, Alaska, and became a hunting guide in the Alaskan wilderness. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three children, Sonja Chandler of Moore, Okla., Jordan and Ashley Chandler, both of Fairbanks, Alaska; three brothers, Bill and his wife, Donna, of Orland, Donald and his wife, Brenda, of Presque Isle, and Brian Chandler of Orland; one sister, Carol Lowell of Bucksport; and eight nieces and nephews, Mark Chandler and his wife, Heidi, Travis Chandler, Jason Lowell, Ryan Lowell, Donald Chandler Jr., Amy Chandler, Nicholas Chandler and Olivia Chandler. A military memorial service honoring Jeff will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Maine Veterans Memorial Chapel, Augusta. After the service family and friends are invited to gather 1-4 p.m. at the home of Carol Lowell, 30 Pine St., Bucksport.
