DOVER-FOXCROFT – Alice Mae Franzose, 84, left this Earth to be with the Lord June 23, 2010, at a Portland hospital. Alice was born June 27, 1925, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Elias J. and Edna (Libby) Wheaton. Raised and educated in Dover-Foxcroft, she was the fourth of eight children. Alice’s strong faith in the Lord comforted her throughout all the ups and downs life had to offer. Alice will be fondly remembered by four sons, Steven Wheaton and his wife, Pat, Thomas Wheaton and his wife, Karen, Alan Franzose and his wife, Karen, and Mark Franzose and his wife, Jessica; and a sister, Elsie London and Cliff Severance of Dover-Foxcroft. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Ryan and Yeter Wheaton, Wendy and Rick Kidwell, Lisa and Dale Drew, Jason and Karla Wheaton, Jay and Jasmine Horton, Dawn and Brenda, Alison and Derek Perkins, Nathaniel Weeks, Mark Aaron Franzose and Corrina. Alice was also blessed with 14 wonderful great-grandchildren, one great-greatgrandchild, many nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her sisters, Myrtle, Margaret and Mabel; her brothers, Arthur, Albert and Elias Jr.; and her beloved daughter, Sheila Horton. Alice’s family is greatly appreciative of the outstanding and compassionate care Alice received in her final years. At Alice’s request, there will be no visiting hours. A private celebration of her life will be held at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. Burial will be in the family lot at Sangerville Village Cemetery.
