BANGOR – Gerald Thomas Johnston, 61, devoted husband of three years to Betty (Myers) Johnston, died June 27, 2010, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 18, 1949, in Bangor, the son of Carlton and Marilyn Johnston. Jerry had been a great provider and hard worker for his first wife of 22 years, Nancy Thibodeau and his daughter, Marsha. He will be missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his wife of Bangor; a daughter, Marsha Willett and her husband, Tony, of Crystal; two grandchildren, Dragon and Mersia Willett; and a sister, Jaceil Sheldon and her husband, Malcolm, of Spruce Head. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Marilyn Dyer; and one brother, Carlton Jr. A service honoring his life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 2, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.
