WESTON – Robert A. Cousins Sr., 77, died June 29, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1932, in Pawtucket, R.I., son of James Arthur and Lillie (Barton) Cousins. He grew up in East Providence, R.I., and graduated from high school. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was on the USS Caperton DD-650. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 45, Danforth, Baskahegan Lodge No. 175 AF & AM, Danforth, and also his home lodge, Harmony Lodge No. 9 F & AM, Cranston, R.I. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Elaine (Holland) Cousins. He is survived by a son, Robert A. Cousins Jr. and his wife, Annette, of Danforth; three grandchildren, Robert A. Cousins III, Jayne and Theresa Cousins, all of Danforth; a nephew, Wayne; two nieces, Bonnie and Leslie; close friends, John Monahan of Florida and Ryan Fish of Weston. The family thanks Dr. Mounir Fertikh and the intensive care unit staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center for the wonderful care they provided.
