CORINNA and BANGOR -Margaret Fogg Seamans, 89, wife of the late Hollis Seamans, went home to be with the Lord, June 30, 2010, at a Bangor nursing facility. She was born May 16, 1921, in Island Falls, the daughter of Ambrose and Hattie (Downes) Fogg. She attended Corinna schools and later worked for Snowflake Canning, Corinna, until a fire destroyed the factory. Margaret then moved to Connecticut and worked as a gun assembler for Colt Firearms Inc., Rocky Hill, Conn. She attended Charleston Pentecostal Church and Pleasant Street Christian Church, Corinna. She had a love of music, especially listening to hymns, and she enjoyed reading her bible and praying for others. One of Margaret’s favorite hobbies was baking, and she would often provide sweets for Youth Challenge, Hartford, Conn., as well as bring some of the children into her home on Friday nights. Surviving are three sons, Alden and his wife, Joanne, of Avon, Conn., Richard and his wife, Rita, of Dexter, and David and his wife, Sue, of Lee, Mass.; two daughters, Jean Mountain and her husband, Ted, of Corinth, and Faye Parker of Corinna; two daughters-in-law, Frannie Seamans of Dexter and Carol Seamans of Newport; a sister, Phyllis Gould of Corinna and Bangor; 15 grandchildren, Debby, Lynn, Bridgette, Brett, Melanie, Peter, Cary, Darren, Brian, Sheila, Holly, Heidi, Rick, Sylvia and Danny; and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Hollis, Margaret was predeceased by two sons, Trueman and Darrel; three stepchildren, Shirley Seamans, Robert Seamans and Phyllis Gudroe; a grandson, Dr. Michael Seamans; and two brothers, Ambrose Fogg Jr. and Emerson Fogg. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Higgins Cemetery, Corinna.
