VEAZIE and LEVANT – James “Jimmy” A. Magee, 60, died peacefully July 2, 2010, at his home, after a long illness. He was the son of the late Augustus Magee and Elvenia (Bell) Magee. Magee served as a firefighter in the U.S. Air Force for many years. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Magee came back to Maine and worked for his closest friend, Dave Chandler, as a repossession agent. Magee loved his job and was very good at what he did. Magee had a gift for making friends with everyone he came across – he will be missed by all of them. Surviving are his three sisters, Ellen Lane of Veazie, Barbara Goss and her husband, Tom, of Hermon and Jacqueline Ellsworth of Bangor; his soul mate and love of his life, Bethee Robinson; his two sons, Michael Magee of Arizona and Justus Magee of Bangor; one granddaughter, Saryn Magee of Mexico, Maine; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend for life, Amy Burgess of Milford. In addition to his parents, Magee was predeceased by three brothers, Lewis “Fibber” Magee, Alvin Myers and Edward McKenna. Friends are welcome to call noon-1 p.m. Monday, July 12, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Millard Costigan officiating.
